About
A travel companion, not a festival
Isola is an independent guide to the islands of the southern Mediterranean — sea, table, and the occasional film under the stars.
We write about Lampedusa, the Pelagie and the smaller Sicilian isles the way you would brief a friend on the ferry down: which cove suits which wind, what to order where the boats come in, when to go and when to stay away. Everything here has been walked to, swum in, eaten, or sat through — usually more than once, for rigour.
One section is different. Cinema Under the Stars is our standing affection for the open-air screen — the culture of watching films outdoors on Mediterranean summer nights. It is about a way of spending an evening, not about any event.
How we work
Water first, then shade, then the walk in. Bars don’t score points; a good rock to dive from scores two. We name no restaurants — ask at the port and follow the fishermen. We keep no dates; the islands run on season and wind, and so do we.
Support
The guide is kept afloat by a small number of partners — one clean placement each, arranged quietly and marked plainly. You’ll find them in the intervallo and the closing credits of the homepage, never inside a story.
